PFH Second Mock Draft Picks (1-10)

Hey guys, it is time to have PFH's second mock draft. Just like last time I will give you the complete first round and where I think the prospects will be going. Last mock draft was a great success, so I am hoping for the same for this one. Here we go!

Panthers, 1st Pick - Cam Newton (QB), Auburn
I keep fighting myself on where to put Cam Newton. He definitely is a great talent out of Auburn. In the end, I think that it was his pro day that pushed him over the top. He had a good workout on March 8th. He completed 50/60 passes. He did over throw some of those, but all in all a good workout. If you like this him, take him. He can bring a new type of playing style to the quarterback position, but will he be what it takes to bring the Panthers back up?

Broncos, 2nd Pick - Marcell Dareus (DT), Alabama
Marcell Dareus is a big stud at 6'4, and over 300 pounds. Very powerful, but he is quick enoungh that you can put him at the end position as well. This would be a good pick for the Broncos. He can be an excellent defensive tackle for any team, and will need two guys to block him. He can make a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage. Many teams would like a guy like Dareus, and if I am the Broncos, take a chance on Marcell Dareus.

Bills, 3rd Pick - Von Miller (OLB), Texas A&M

One of my favorite players on the whole entire board. Makes a lot of plays when the defense needs it. Was the voice of that Texas A&M defense and in a couple years he can be the voice of an NFL team. For the Cardinals, I think that you need to make a pick like this. Von Miller can make a play no matter if you put him on the right or left side. Reminds people of DeMarcus Ware. The Bills could use a linebacker that can make plays the way Miller can. A sideline to sideline type player. The Bills' defense, I believe, needs some young talent like Miller unless they decide to go quarterback and take Gabbert.

Bengals, 4th Pick A.J. Green (WR), Georgia
A.J. Green has a lot of potential to do great things in this league. Green is a tall target at 6'4, very fast, and has soft hands. I think that the Bengals, with problems with the quarterback and wide receiver issues needs to take Green right here. It would add that one extra target for whoever may be the starting QB for them. His stats tell the story all by itself. 57 catches for 848 yards, and 9 touchdowns in 2010. Rumors that he could go here, or will he slide down?

Cardinals, 5th Pick - Blaine Gabbert (QB), Missouri
Gabbert has a lot of potential. Has played most of his Missouri career in the shot gun, and understands that he needs more time under center. I think that he is the most pro-ready quarterback in this class. His Junior year stats are good, but not the numbers he showed his sophomore season. In 2010 he passed for 3,186 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions. Gabbert is the number one quarterback on my board because of his ability to read the defense. Can that transition to the NFL, that is what we are waiting to see. All in all, a good pick for a team that could use a fresh start.

Browns, 6th Pick - Da'Quan Bowers (DE), Clemson
I don't see the Browns passing up on a big pass rusher like Bowers up. Bowers can even be a pass rushing OLB in the 3-4 scheme. Bowers is extremely athletic, and will become a leader on the defense. This defense could use another solid player, and if Bowers can stay healthy, he will be just that. He defiantly has some questions to answer about injuries, and I think that this is why he falls at six.

49ers, 7th Pick - Patrick Peterson (CB), LSU
Patrick Peterson is moving up on a lot of scouts' boards. This would be an excellent and safe pick for the 49ers. Has good size, and is a ball hawk. Plays good man coverage, and gets in good position to make a play each and every down. The 49ers could use someone like Peterson, and his big play ability. He has very good hands, and is a very good returner as well. Has brought back several for LSU for the past couple of years. If he is available, take a chance on him.

Titans, 8th Pick - Nick Fairley (DT), Auburn
Nick Fairely is a big guy thats motor just does not stop. A big guy at 6'5, in around 300 pounds, has the ability to play all positions on the defensive line. Reminds me a lot of Steelers DE Ziggy Hood. Fairley's game against LSU this past year was a great performance and tells you all about him. He has the little speed to get around the edge, and has good strength, just like Ziggy Hood. He can help improve this defense that could use help.

Cowboys, 9th Pick -  Tyron Smith (OT), Southern California
Tyron Smith has grown rapidly on my board. I have been watching some film on this guy and he has whatever that "it" is. He just a solid tackle. A reason why I had him a bit lower was I was worried that can he be a left tackle? On his pro day, he had an excellent workout in the position drills, and he is growing on scouts' boards as well. Has great footwork. I think that he is a great run blocker. Never seems out of position, and just looks to be that kind of guy the Cowboys need on their offensive line.

Redskins, 10th Pick - Julio Jones (WR), Alabama
The sky is the limit for Julio Jones. A team like the Redskins could use a guy like Jones. He has good hands, and runs nice and smooth. He is a huge competitor. Had a great combine and since then, he has been rising. A tall receiver at 6'2, that won't blind you with his speed. Ran a 4.39 at the combine. A good possession receiver. In 2010 he had 78 catches for 1,133 yards, and 7 touchdowns. Has had injury problems though. I think that he is going to be a good reliable receiver for years to come.
