Lockout Coming?
We are now in the Playoffs in the 2010 season, and everyone has been waiting patiently for a new collective bargaining agreement. Now that we are getting very close to the end of the season, everyone is getting a little more worried each and every day. The NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, claims that there can and will be a new agreement done, but fans are starting to question that.
Players in the League say that health care is a big problem with the CBA discussion. A lockout can effect the player's health insurance. The union held a conference call on Tuesday, addressing that there is only 50 days left until the lockout will begin. March 4th, will be the first official day of the lockout. Many players are concerned if this will happen, wondering why they are waiting till the last minute.
In my opinion, I am not sure that a deal will get done. We are less than 50 days away and all we are watching are the days wind down without a deal getting any closer. I am not happy on how the organization are holding themselves. This is the most popular sport in the nation, and the League wouldn't be smart. They would be losing income and maybe a loss of population. With a lockout looming, the League better get started on getting a deal.
