PFH First 2011 Mock Draft (Picks 1-10)

Hey guys, this is my first Mock Draft of the year. I will be doing two more after this. Today (start of the Combine), During player's pro days, and before the draft will be my final mock draft.  I want all of you fans to talk about who guys are going to get. Let's get started!

Panthers, 1st Pick - Da'Quan Bowers (DE), Clemson
Bowers will only bench at the Combine this week In Indianapolis, and will not participate in any of the positional drills. I don't see Carolina passing up on a big pass rusher like Bowers up. Bowers can even be a pass rushing OLB in the 3-4 scheme. Bowers is extremely athletic, and will become a leader on the defense.

Broncos, 2nd Pick - Nick Fairley (DT), Auburn
Nick Fairely is a big guy thats motor just does not stop. A big guy at 6'5, in around 300 pounds, has the ability to play all positions on the defensive line. Reminds me a lot of Steelers DE Ziggy Hood. Fairley's game against LSU this past year was a great performance and tells you all about him. He has the little speed to get around the edge, and has good strength, just like Ziggy Hood. I would take him second if I was coach John Fox. He can help improve this defense that looked bad in a lot of games last year.

Bills, 3rd Pick- Cam Newton (QB), Auburn
Now Personally, I do not think that Newton should be going quite this high, and it could be a bit of a risk. Cam Newton will need to show that he can stay and wait to find the open receiver. I think the Bills will use Newton in their system. I agree with Mike Mayock from the NFL Network when he said that Newton's BCS performance was sloppy. Newton did pass for 30 touchdowns this past year and ran for 20. Compared to Vince Young but with a better arm. I think if Newton don't go here, he could slide for awhile.

Bengals, 4th Pick - Patrick Peterson (CB), LSU
Patrick Peterson is moving up on a lot of scouts' boards. This would be an excellent and safe pick for the Bengals. Has good size, and is a ball hawk. Plays good man coverage, and gets in good position to make a play each and every down. The Bengals could use someone like Peterson, and his big play ability. He has very good hands, and is a very good returner as well. Has brought back several for LSU for the past couple of years. If he is available, take a chance on him.

Cardinals, 5th Pick - Von Miller (OLB), Texas A&M
One of my favorite players on the whole entire board. Makes a lot of plays when the defense needs it. Was the voice of that Texas A&M defense and in a couple years he can be the voice of an NFL team. For the Cardinals, I think that you need to make a pick like this. Von Miller can make a play no matter if you put him on the right or left side. Reminds people of DeMarcus Ware. The Cardinals could use another linebacker that can make plays. The Cardinals defense I believe needs some young talent, and                                 this would be an excellent pick.

Browns, 6th Pick - Marcell Dareus(DT), Alabama
Marcell Dareus is a big stud at 6'4, and over 300 pounds. Very powerful, but he is quick that you can put him at the end position as well. This would be a good pick for the Browns seeing how they no longer have Shaun Rogers. He can be an excellent DT for any team, will need two guys to block him. He can make a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage. Many teams would like a guy like Dareus, and if I am the Browns, and he is available, take a chance on Marcell Dareus.

49ers, 7th Pick - Robert Quinn (DE), North Carolina
Robert Quinn is a questionable pick all because of that suspension this past season. If he had another season like he had in 2009 instead of getting suspended, he maybe have been an earlier pick. He may slide even further, but by what we know about Quinn, I think the 49ers should take a chance on him. He makes the defense stronger, and would be a great addition to Patrick Willis and Manny Lawson. That would be a very nice group of players. Quinn is a very good pass rusher, and I think he can land with the 49ers.

Titans, 8th Pick - A.J. Green (WR), Georgia
A.J. Green has a lot of potential to do great things in the league. Green is a tall target at 6'4, very fast, and has soft hands. I think that the Titans, with the lack of success at WR should take Green. It would add that one extra target for whoever may be the starting QB for the Titans. The Titans may be a team that may trade down to get more draft picks.

Cowboys, 9th Pick - Prince Amukamara (CB), Nebraska
Amukamara is my personal favorite CB in the class. I think that he plays very good man coverage and just gets into excellent position to make the play. Tackles so well in the open field. I feel that the Cowboys could use a potential "shut down" corner on their team. He has all the ability to be great. Struggles at times with his back peddle. Cowboys may be another team that may move down in the draft, and let another team move up. If the Cowboys stay at nine, they should consider taking Amukamara.

Redskins, 10th Pick - Blaine Gabbert (QB), Missouri
Gabbert has a lot of potential. Has played most of his Missouri career in the shot gun, and understands that he needs more time under center. The question is that will Shanahan take a chance on Gabbert. I don't see many other places where Gabbert would go before here. Gabbert makes some great plays, and can do it in or out of the pocket. Has huge amount of potential, and Shanahan may be the guy to take a chance on him.
