PFH First Mock Draft

IT'S DRAFT SEASON LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!

CHIEFS - 1st Overall Pick - Luke Joeckel OT, Texas A&M
Luke Joeckel is hands down the best tackle in this draft, and in my opinion, the first pick of the NFL Draft. He played left tackle at Texas A&M last season and did a great job. He will continue on with that role into the NFL. Good foot work and is very strong. A starter from day one.

JAGUARS - 2nd Overall Pick - Geno Smith QB, WVU
Geno Smith is in my opinion, raw talent at the quarterback position. He can make a lot of plays on his feet, but can hurt you with his strong arm. Is he my top qaurterback talent wise? No. I personally believe Matt Barkley and Mike Glennon are better decision makers than Geno Smith. Look for him to be the first quarterback to be taken off the list within the first three picks. He will remind you of a Cam Newton, except Geno Smith will throw more often.

RAIDERS - 3rd Overall Pick - Chance Warmack OG, Alabama
Chance Warmack is the best football player in this draft in my personal opinion. He has a great football IQ. He has it all for an offensive lineman. Pass blocking ability along with elite run blocking capabilities. Will help the screen game as well. You can not pass up on a talent like Warmack if you are in need of a guard or improvement of your running game. Warmack is very alert and everything you look for in his position.

EAGLES - 4th Overall Pick - Dion Jordan DE, Oregon
Dion Jordan is a great pass rusher. He makes plays all game long and can defend the run as well as the pass. He is tall, quick, and athletic. A type of player you want on your defensive line. Arguably the best pass rusher in this draft and will impress scouts and coaches.

LIONS - 5th Overall Pick - Jarvis Jones OLB, Georgia
Jarvis Jones is the closest thing to Von Miller you are going to get in this draft. He is an All-American Football Player and I see a number of teams that could use a player like Jones early in in this draft. There is no way he sneaks past the Steelers at seventeen. The Lions and Jaguars are also in a need for a stud like Jones. Just watch his tape. Very alert and a very good pass rusher. I love watching him play.

BROWNS - 6th Overall Pick - Barkevious Mingo DE, LSU
As many pass rushers that are in this draft early, Barkevious Mingo's speed is what separates him from the rest of the group. Could it pull him up to the top pass rusher taken in this draft? It very well could. In the top ten, teams have a choice of a lot of very good pass rushers, but Mingo's speed lets him stand out. He can get to the QB and is very alert at his position. Long arms and plays the position with a passion.

CARDINALS - 7th Overall Pick - Matt Barkley QB, USC
After the college season ended, many people thought the quarterback class was not the same as it has been in the past years. They are right. The talent may not compare to last year's Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III. However, I do see three quarterbacks going in round one. That adds up to about your normal first round draft. With Barkley, you get a player that can make very good throws and has started all four years of high school and all four years of college. He has dealt with coaching changes, and still produced high statistic seasons. That's why he is my number one quarterback to be taken in the draft. Great leadership skills, and I believe he can be a winner in the right system.

BILLS - 8th Overall Pick - Mike Glennon QB, N.C. State
When I watch the film on Mike Glennon, I love what I see. I see a quarterback that can succeed at the next level if he gets into the right system. If you watch his game against Florida State last season, that is exactly what I am trying to say. He can make big plays with his arm. Can get out of the pocket if he needs to. Can win the game late in the fourth quarter. He is second on my quarterback rankings because I see great potential in Glennon.

JETS - 9th Overall Pick - Jonathan Cooper OG, North Carolina
North Carolina's Jonathan Cooper is a great talent with a ton of upside. He can make big holes for the running game and has very good foot work with the pass blocking game. He stands at 6'3 and 310 pounds. A team that needs a good pass blocker that can move light on his feet, look at Cooper.

TITANS - 10th Overall Pick - Kenny Vaccaro S, Texas
Watching Kenny Vaccaro at Texas, I seen a lot of talent. A safety that needs to mature his game a bit. He can be misled. However, he has tons of upside. He covers a lot of ground quickly. He is not afraid to come up and make a hit. He has good tackling skills. A whistle to whistle type player. A team that needs depth in their secondary, take a chance on Vaccaro.
