Chiefs, 11th Pick - David Decastro (OG), Stanford
To start with the next ten picks of the PFH mock draft, I have the Chiefs taking David Decastro. Decastro would be a good fit here in Kansas City. Good size and is a good athlete. Some scouts even believe that Decastro is a better lineman than Steelers starting center, Maurkice Pouncey. Now, I am not going to say all that, but it just shows what kind of player you do have here. Very special and could be the Chiefs' next Brian Waters if they take the chance on him.
Seahawks, 12th Pick - Luke Kuechly (ILB), Boston College
Let me put this very simply. Luke Kuechly is the tackling machine. It is easy as that. Maybe my favorite player in this class because of all the plays he makes. In his three years at Boston College, he had over 100 tackles each season. I think it would be very smart for Seattle to pull the trigger on Kuechly. Humble player and a leader on and off the field. Definitely the type of player you want on your team. Seattle could use a player like this.
Cardinals, 13th Pick - Jonathan Martin (OT), Stanford
A good solid player here. Remember, Martin and Decastro made Andrew Luck (expected to go first overall), look very well these past few seasons. A lot of that did have to do with the offensive line and Martin was a big part of that. Big and physical just like they should be. Will help protect your quarterback from guys like Aldon Smith in that division. I like Martin a lot, but can see the Cardinals going somewhere else with this pick or maybe even a trade.
Cowboys, 14th Pick - Dre Kirkpatrick (CB), Alabama
Arguably the best corner back in this draft class, but off the field issues have him dropping a bit. Is a good talent out of Alabama. Can play physical, and has good coverage skills. Really like Kirkpatrick if he can stay away from trouble. Makes me wonder if that will make Jerry Jones double think this decision and pass on him, but he is so good that it could be a little bit of a steal if he stays out of trouble. Kirkpatrick really does have it all, and as others may not be as sold on him as me, let me tell you, he is a highlight type player.
Eagles, 15th Pick - Fletcher Cox (DT), Mississippi State
The Eagles really did the opposite of what everyone thought they were going to do last season. They took a huge step back in progress of getting the Lombardi Trophy. So, instead of getting a big star player, I think the Eagles could really use a good role player. You get that with Cox. Big guy at 6'4 and 295 pounds and I think he is a good fit for this defense. A bunch of star players don't make your team. You need role players. Cox will fill in nicely with that defense. Will help stop the run which they were having problems doing last season as well as getting to the quarterback.
Jets, 16th Pick - Mark Barron (S), Alabama
This is the guy that I think teams are really gonna try racing after. May see teams trading to get Barron. He is a very tough and smart player. My only problem with Barron is I think he is a little too slow for me. That's just my opinion. Other people love everything about Barron. Hits hard, plays the ball in the air very well, and covers exceptionally well. As for the Jets, they usually have a tougher defense year in and year out but kind of stepped off that horse last season. I think a guy like Barron improves that defense, and helps them get back to the tough physical defense they want to have again.
Bengals, 17th Pick - Michael Brockers (DT), LSU
Okay, I can already see people getting on me about a few things here. One, letting Brockers drop this low. Two, having Brockers being the third defensive tackle drafted. And finally, the Bengals already have Domata Peko. Well I am not sold as much on Brockers as everyone else is. LSU's whole defense was tough last season. Yes, a lot of that had to do with Brockers, but still not completely sold on him at this point and that rank may drive up by time my next mock draft rolls around. The Bengals need help on defense whether it be in the secondary here or defensive line, but Brockers would take some of the pressure off of Peko and it would become one of the more dominating defensive lines in the league.
Chargers, 18th Pick - Cordy Glenn (OG), Georgia
Cordy Glenn was my favorite offensive linemen to watch this year at the NFL Scouting Combine. Why? Glenn did just about every drill fluid and rather smooth. Excellent athlete and quick on his feet. The type of player that could really step up this Chargers' offensive line. Was very good at Georgia and I think his combine performance raised his stock. Glenn could become running back Ryan Matthew's best friend because he is a good run blocker as pass blocker, but can improve this line and help the Chargers. Other teams may want to take shot at Glenn as well so who's to tell if he slips or rises by draft day.
Bears, 19th Pick - Michael Floyd (WR), Notre Dame
I have been thinking for years that the Bears need a good possession receiver. Here is their chance with Floyd. Nice and tall which I think Cutler would like having instead of shorter guys like Devin Hester and Johnny Knox all the time. Real good hands. Catches the ball very well. 6'3 and over 220 pounds. Can go up and get the ball. Couple problems about Floyd is I think his route running can improve greatly and once that happens, he will be even better. Plus off the field issues. Has been in trouble off the field a couple of times while at Notre Dame, but you hope that changes and he matures. All-in-all, I think would be a good pick for the Bears.
Titans, 20th Pick - Janoris Jenkins (CB), North Alabama
Really like Jenkins, but another player who has off field problems. This may even make his stock drop even worse. Maybe around Detroit. A team that has a strong locker room that could control him. I put him here because a team like the Titans who just lost corner back Cortland Finnegan in free agency, could really use his talent. He tests very well. Covers well and is very quick and smooth. Those are the things you look for in a starting corner. He has all the talent and ability, it's just can he stay out of trouble? That's a question he will have to answer as it may hurt him on draft day.
