Hello NFL Fans, this has been a great NFL Season so far and by the looks of the match ups, week four will not disappoint us neither. If you are looking at the web site for the first time, picks on the Gridiron are some of the weeks best match ups of the week and my predictions for them. Let's take a look at some of this week's games.
Steelers @ Texans is the first match up that I look at that is going to spark my eye. This game could easily go either way. Both teams will have to play all four quarters to get a win in this game. When I look at the two teams both sides have their strengths and their weaknesses. The team that executes their game plan the best will be the team that comes out with the "W" in week four.
When I look at the Texans I see a good offense going against an always strong Steelers defense. With Arian Foster still dinged up with the hamstring injury, that means a lot of the pressure has been focused on back up running back Ben Tate and quarterback Matt Schaub. Tate has looked good, but going against a tough Steelers defense, we will see how well they will be able to run. The Steelers offense has some worries too. Watching the Steelers last Sunday night against the Colts, I noticed a very injured and quite weak offensive line. Yes, the Colts have two of the best defensive ends in the NFL today, but the Steelers offensive line did not execute at all. The offensive line could not run block or pass block. Now this week they have to face a man by the name of Mario Williams. I still think the Steelers have the upper hand in this game though. This team just knows how to win. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has a lot of offensive weapons and I plan on seeing him use them tomorrow. I think the Steelers defense makes a few big plays to help them win in Houston. My Pick: Steelers 27, Texans 20
Lions @ Cowboys is a game that I am sure a lot of people are going to have their eye on. Do the shocking 3-0 Lions have what it takes to beat America's team, the 2-1 Dallas Cowboys. I personally think that the Lions do have what it takes to beat these Cowboys. They have it all. A very talented offense, and a defense that is starting to become one of it's own. Quarterback Tony Romo has a long day ahead of him tomorrow if his offensive line does not help him out. The Lions have a offense that I think shocks a lot of people. The Stafford-Calvin Johnson duo is looking great. These two players have great chemistry. Stafford is averaging two touchdown passes a week to Johnson. If the Cowboys defense holds the Lions offense down, that is just half the battle. They need to find a way to execute on offense. Felix Jones needs to be effective to help the Cowboys. Romo has to be effective as well. In the end I think the Lions will win again. My Pick: Lions 28, Cowboys 17
Jets @ Ravens is going to be a great prime time Sunday Night game. Rex Ryan playing the team that he was defensive coordinator for. Both teams with a loss on their record, it is a battle to stay above .500. Two teams with two strong defenses. Another game that you will have to watch all four quarters to see who will really win this game. Personally, I think the stronger defense wins, but don't just watch the defense. Both offenses have an up-side. The Ravens have a stronger offense in my opinion just because of one man that really is a difference maker. Ray Rice. One of the most talented backs in the league right now. If Rice can help in the run game, Flacco should be able to lead the Ravens' offense down the field. Of course it's not that easy to pass when you are facing two corner backs in Darelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie. This might just be an early match up for what's to see in the future. Will these two teams meet again in the playoffs? That remains to be seen. As we know, you must take it one game at a time, and in this one I see the Ravens getting it done. My Pick: Ravens 17, Jets 13
