NFC South Draft Recap

Falcons

2011: The Falcons seem to disappoint once they hit the post season and the same was said in the 2011 season. Quarterback Matt Ryan has yet to win a playoff game in his four year career. The team finished the season 10-6. The 2011 draft for the Falcons was clearly about getting Julio Jones and that also effected their 2012 draft.

The League Today 5/14/12

Jason Peters will need a second Achilles surgery after re-injuring it. Derrick Gunn of Comcast Spertsnet reports that according to a league source, Peters re-injured his Achilles "after the Roll-A-Bout he was using malfunctioned." Peters, a five-time pro bowl selection, injured his Achilles initially on March 27th. Peters is suing the company that made the product.

The Titans are in the market to signing a safety. The team will be hosting two of the better safeties in free agency. Former Dolphins S Yeremiah Bell and former Bengals S Chris Crocker. Both players were released by their team after last season, and the Titans are looking to add some depth at the position.

The Chargers have signed all of their draft picks. The Chargers are now the fifth team in the League to sign all of their draft picks. Drafting guys like Melvin Ingram, Kendall Reyes, Brandon Taylor, and Edwin Baker. All of their picks are now under contract and no distractions going into training camp.

Tim Hightower returns to the Redskins. Hightower and the Redskins have agreed to terms on a contract. It looks that Hightower will be the starting running back with the Redskins in 2012. Hightower has some company. Running backs Evan Royster and Roy Helu have proved that they have something to offer at the position as well so it should be a real good battle for time on the field.

Broncos defensive line coach Wayne Nunnely, has retired from coaching. The sixty year old Nunnely has been coaching for thirty-six years, and the past seventeen were in the NFL. Defensive assistant Jay Rodgers will be the new defensive line coach.

The League Today 5/10/12

The Panthers sign first round LB Luke Kuechly from Boston College. Kuechly will be getting a 4 four year, $12.58 million deal. All of it which is guaranteed. Panthers begin rookie minicamp tomorrow with Kuechly under contract.

Buccaneers DE Da'Quan Bowers tears Achilles. The only information that the Buccaneers have released is that he suffered the injury somehow during their off-season program. Further deatails have yet to be announced. Bowers says that he will be playing this year.

Cardinals sign Calais Campbell to a five year contract. Campbell is one of the best pass rushing 3-4 defensive ends in the league and a leader of the Cardinals defense. This makes space on the Cardinals salary cap signing him to a long term deal after placing the franchise tender on him earlier this year.

AFC East Draft Recap

2012 Bills Draft

2011: The Bills started the 2011 season very well starting the season 5-2, one of those wins were against division rival the New England Patriots. What was very impressive was the points the Bills were able to put up with their spread offense led by quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. As the beginning of the season started off great for the Bills, they finished the season 6-11 which led them to the tenth overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. As far as the 2011 rookies, they attacked the defense and drafted some real talent. Marcell Dareus led the Bills in sacks last year. LB Kelvin Sheppard is a good run stopper and coaches love him.

The League Today 5/7/12

Hello NFL Fans, Pro Football Hotline is stepping it up and looking to release an article every single day to keep you locked in on all of the latest NFL News every day. I say that PFH is your number one source for football news, and now it's time to really show that we are!

Bills running back Fred Jackson signed a contract extension today with the Bills. Jackson has led the Bills in rushing for three straight seasons and I think everyone knows he is quite worthy of this extension. He is one of the best all-around running backs in the league. Since being signed by the Bills in 2006 as an undrafted rookie, Fred Jackson has played in 66 games, has 3,754 rushing yards, and 16 touchdowns. Jackson also has 175 catches, 1,535 receiving yards, and 4 touchdowns.

Seahawks sign first round DE Bruce Irvin. Irvin is a DE from West Virginia that everyone was completely blown away when the Seahawks selected him with their first round pick. As we know, the new CBA makes the draft as a whole, very easy to get things done including signing draft picks. Irvin is the first guy to be signed to a team from the first round.

Bengals interested in Braylon Edwards. It's been reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter that the Bengals have been looking into the 29 year-old wide receiver. In the NFL Draft, the Bengals added two new receivers in Mohamed Sanu from Rutgers and California's Marvin Jones. Edwards, who only had 15 receptions last year for the 49ers, has bounced around the league and is looking for a new chance and maybe a new entrance back int the AFC North.

Vikings cut K Ryan Longwell. After drafting Georgia K Blair Walsh in the 2012 NFL Draft. Longwell spent six seasons with the Vikings and it all came to an end today.

AFC North NFL Draft Recap

2012 - Bengals Draft

2011: The Bengals did something last season that few people thought they could do at the beginning of last year, and that was make it to the playoffs. The Bengals lost their franchise quarterback (Carson Palmer) and star wide receiver(Chad Ochocinco). After recognizing that they will not be having these players for the 2011 season, the Bengals responded with drafting wide receiver A.J. Green in the first round and quarterback Andy Dalton in the second. Other than those two, the other rookies didn't help the Bengals very much, and will need to have a better class in the 2012 season.
